マリリン・マンソンの芸名は、マリリン・モンローと チャールズ・マンソン（1969年に、映画監督ロマン・ポランスキーの妻シャロン・テートを殺したカルト教団教祖の名前）から取られている。

ちなみにこのチャールズ・マンソンの事件はビートルズの曲「HelterSkelter」に深く関わっている。
