カンニバル・コープスは、1988年結成のアメリカ、ニューヨーク州バッファロー出身のデスメタルバンド。

Hammer Smashed Face (Live)

甘辛くておいしい「バッファローチキンウイング」の発祥の地出身ですが、
のちに活動をフロリダへ移しています。

初期デスメタルバンドがフロリダに多かったようで、デス、モービッドエンジェル、オビチュアリーらと共に世界中のデスメタルバンドに影響を与え、デスメタルなのに”聖地”とされたフロリダ州タンパの”モリスタジオ＆スコット･バーンズ”のサウンドを一躍有名にしたのもCannibal Corpseのサウンドが発端。

デスメタルのレジェンド的存在でありながらも現在も成長するサウンドがまったくブレないオールドスクールデスサウンドは日本のファンの間で”コープス節”と呼ばれ新旧のファンを今も楽しませている。

ジャケット、ＰＶともにグロテスクで有名、本国アメリカではジャケットが発禁になっている。

Cannibal（食人族） Corpse（死体）の2語文。
