メロデスとグルーヴメタルの融合的サウンドを展開している

元々のバンド名はDeathRideだった。
デビューにあたって版権問題やいくつかの同名のバンドが存在していたためDeathrideからDevilDriverにその名前を変更した。

COAL CHAMBERというバンドのフロントマンだったデズと当時のギタリストEvan Pittsが中心となり、2003年に結成
